USE OF MEDIA

Media is one of the most powerful tools in advocacy. We cannot separate Ending child marriage from the use of radio talk shows. We mostly use radio stations to share information with hard-to-reach areas /grassroots. A very powerful tool in reaching out to a wide audience and providing instant assessment (e.g. through live phone-in programs).

With these programs, we are able to talk to reach out to girls themselves, boys, parents, local leaders, District and Government leaders. It enables us to Easily Broadcast in local languages and be accessible in even the remotest regions. In communities that for too long have been excluded from decision making in their societies, letting their voices be heard on local and community radio empowers and mobilizes and is the key to positive social change.

The radio has influenced individuals and groups to successfully pressure governments to make policy changes regarding unprotected poor girl children, whose hope of completing education is next to impossible. It is a powerful tool for educating and informing communities on all aspects of child abusesYoung people too enjoy and like listening to our talk shows.

They often call back to where multilingual programs promote human rights programs, discussions of current events in regard to rampant Teenage Pregnancies due to prolonged lockdown of schools amidst COVID-19. Children have been kept home for a very long period (2 years).
