THE CO-CREATION STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOP BETWEEN THE GIRLS NOT BRIDES UGANDA AND THE GIRLS NOT BRIDES GLOBAL TEAM
In February from the 20th to the 22nd, we were honoured to be part of the Co-creation strategy development workshop of our partners from Girls Not Brides Uganda National Partnership, government representatives and the African Union. The purpose of this 3-day workshop was to start the process of co-creating a work plan and strategy to strengthen the impact of the financial investment to End Child Marriage in Uganda.
The Co-creation was one of its kind as the global team from the Girls Not Brides had the best engagement with the members, but also marked the next step in our collective response – a chance to understand each other better, celebrate past successes, build consensus on the important issues, and take initial steps towards a strategic work plan.
Dr. Faith Mwangi-Powell, the CEO of Girls Not Brides Global, was glad to meet the grassroots organizations and she asked about what best can be done to End Child Marriage. In other words, she wanted us to identify the missing link that could help us End child marriages in Uganda.
She challenged all participants to pick that one girl and transform her life, ” Pick that one girl”.
She encouraged us to work as a collective to achieve results.
